About

The North Star
Most people don't walk into a space and notice typography or layout.
They don't analyze lighting or color palettes.
But they feel something.
They feel when a space is warm.
When a story resonates.
When an experience feels intentional.
When a product or experience feels like it was made for them.
As a brand leader, I see the details most people don't consciously register. But I've learned that those details only matter if they support an emotion people can connect to — belonging, nostalgia, celebration, discovery.
Brand & creative leadership, to me, is about protecting that emotional thread.
It's about ensuring that every touchpoint — physical or digital — feels cohesive and rooted in the same point of view. It's about evolving with culture without losing identity. It's about elevating craft with real storytelling, while keeping the experience human.
I lead by setting a clear aesthetic standard and staying close to the work — building strategy, shaping concepts, directing shoots, mentoring teams, building relationships and refining the details that turn good ideas into meaningful ones.
When the experience is aligned to the brand values and intentional, people don't just notice it.
They come back.
That's the North Star I strive to lead by.
This is the lens I now bring specifically to fashion and lifestyle — a world where brand doesn't live in a campaign or a color palette. It lives in the moment someone puts on a piece of clothing and feels more like themselves. It lives in the ritual of a beauty routine, the feeling of walking into a store that seems to already know you. I've spent twenty years protecting that emotional thread across retail environments, private label brands, and consumer platforms at national scale. Now I'm bringing that same discipline — emotional intent first, every system built around it — to fashion and lifestyle brands that want to be felt, not just seen.
MY RELATIONSHIP WITH FASHION
My passion is fashion design plus technology and everything related to lifestyle aesthetics. I am a follower of the latest trends in fashion, and an avid user of WGSN and Pinterest.
To relax and unwind, I design and sew garments. Sometimes I alter a piece to make it trendy.
For the past two years, I've been immersed in AI to learn the many available solutions. Professionally, I use AI to streamline processes and optimize for efficiency. Personally, I am using it to create solutions for existing problems.
My latest projects are a fashion app to simplify decision making for women and a digital marketing in a box solution for startups and non-profits.
In addition, I am the owner and principal consultant for Ziyaan Design Studio. I started the firm in 2018 as a creative outlet for myself. The studio strives to help everyday people with affordable design solutions, allowing them to turn the space into their own kind of beautiful.
